The Music Of Tadd Dameron
The main inspiration for our new program was the music of Tadd Dameron
(1917-1965). As the most influential arranger and composer of Bebop
he arranged music for world-famous bands and jazz musicians such as Count Basie, Artie Shaw, Jimmie Lunceford, Dizzy Gillespie, and Sarah Vaughan. Dameron also composed many unforgettable standards, among them Lady Bird, Hot House, Our Delight and Good Bait – to name just some of the most important. An exciting concert to look forward to, no genuine jazz fan
should miss!

Close Your Eyes - Collection of Women's Compositions
Thinking of women in jazz, we all too often think of singers and famous voices. But women have always been jazz artists in every respect: playing every instrument, writing arrangements and songs, and leading their own bands. This collection, joyfully put together by Laura Cesar, played by JazzImpuls either performing as a duo or a quartet, takes us from the 1920s to the work of contemporary women composers. Thanks to this inspiring collection we now enjoy music from women in jazz, formerly underrated or seldom heard, fully aware, with open minds and open hearts.
